Can your implant treatment take fewer steps?

Explore three options for planning your time in Seoul. Suitability is assessed individually; bone healing and final restorations still need their own schedule.

Fewer waiting stages

Immediate implants after extraction

Immediate placement means inserting an implant into the tooth socket on the day of extraction. Combining these steps can shorten the overall pathway compared with waiting for the extraction site to heal before placement.

The dentist checks the socket walls, available bone, gum condition and infection, then confirms whether the implant can be held firmly in the intended position. The final decision may change after extraction.

Bone grafting may still be needed. If the site cannot support immediate placement, healing or grafting first may be the better plan. Placing the implant immediately does not by itself mean that a temporary or final crown can be attached that day.

The key question

Can the implant be placed securely in a suitable position at extraction?

Planned before surgery

Guided implant surgery (navigation implants)

Sinchon Dain’s navigation implant approach uses 3D CT assessment, computer planning and a patient-specific surgical guide. The guide helps the clinician place the implant according to the planned position, angle and depth.

Planning the implant and replacement tooth together can make the surgical workflow more efficient in suitable cases. Examination, digital planning and guide fabrication take place before surgery, so preparation time must also be included in your visit plan.

A guide does not make bone heal faster and does not guarantee incision-free surgery or a shorter total treatment time. The clinician checks guide fit and surgical conditions and may adapt the plan when necessary.

The key question

Will a custom guide help carry out the surgical and restorative plan for this site?

  4. Implant placement & checks

Less time with a visible gap

Immediate temporary teeth on implants

An immediate provisional restoration is a temporary tooth fitted soon after implant placement. It can restore appearance during healing, particularly where a missing tooth is visible. It is a stage on the way to the final restoration.

Attaching a temporary tooth and allowing it to take chewing forces are separate decisions. The dentist assesses implant stability and your bite, and may keep the temporary tooth out of biting contact to protect the healing implant.

Follow the eating, cleaning and review instructions for your own restoration. If an implant-supported temporary tooth is unsuitable, ask about another temporary option. The final crown is planned after the implant and surrounding tissues have been reassessed.

The key question

Can a temporary tooth be supported while protecting the healing implant?

Plan your visits around healing, not only the surgery date.

Tell our dedicated in-house professional interpreting team your preferred language and travel dates. Ask for a plan that separates surgery, interim care and the final restoration.

Before travelling

Share your main concern, available dental images, medical history and medications. Remote discussion helps prepare your visit; the treatment decision requires an in-person examination.

First treatment stage

Confirm the site assessment, possible grafting and temporary-tooth options. Allow time for digital planning and guide preparation when these are part of the plan.

Healing & review

Schedule postoperative checks and discuss care after returning home. Immediate placement or a temporary tooth does not remove the need for bone healing.

Final restoration

A later visit may be needed for the final crown and bite adjustment. Agree the follow-up arrangements before starting treatment.

Questions about timing

Can everything be completed in one day?

Some patients can have extraction, implant placement and a temporary tooth in one appointment. This depends on the site and implant stability. The temporary tooth is not the final restoration, and healing and follow-up remain part of care.

Does a navigation implant shorten bone healing?

No. Digital planning and a surgical guide help organise implant placement. They do not replace the biological healing needed for the implant to integrate with bone.

Can I have immediate implants if I need bone grafting?

Sometimes, depending on the size and location of the defect and the ability to stabilise the implant. Other cases need grafting or healing before placement. The dentist will explain the sequence after examining the site.

How many trips to Korea will I need?

There is no fixed number for every patient. Confirm the preparation, surgery, review and final-restoration appointments before booking flights. A second treatment trip or additional reviews may be needed.

What should my quotation include?

The listed Osstem, Point UV and Straumann Roxolid implant fees include placement, the abutment and the final crown. Other listed procedures, such as imaging, bone grafting and sedation, retain their separate fee-schedule entries; confirm which are needed for your plan. The 900,000 KRW crown-only fee applies to an existing implant without new placement and is not added to the new implant prices.
